Year 8 Sport Education Camp

On the 19th and 20th of November students in the Year 8 Sport Education Elective went on a camp to utilise their abilities developed in the Bush Skills unit they have been participating in this semester.

Eastmeadows and Sunshine campuses joined together to experience hiking, kayaking, trangia cooking and sleeping in tents.

Students were challenged with an 8 kilometre hike along the beautiful coastline from Point Addis to Anglesea.

They then had time for beach games before a Masterchef cook-off using the trangia camping stoves.

The next day, students participated in kayaking around the Angelsea estuary, where students had to navigate themselves under bridges, complete raft-ups and work together in a number of team activities.

Students were then rewarded with a stop off at the chocolate factory before heading home for a well-deserved rest.

A special thanks to Ms Hannah and Mr Faruq who assisted in making this camp a great experience for the Year 8 students.
